Product Versus: Brightening Scrubs

Hello lovely people of the blog world!

Today I am comparing Aveeno Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Daily Scrub and Sanctuary Brightening Facial Radiance Exfloliator (what a mouthful!) .

Aveeno Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Daily Scrub

Texture: Quite runny with very fine beads. This scrub could easily be used over a sink or in the shower. I do prefer scrubs that are a bit more abrasive but if you have sensitive skin this would be a great texture that wouldn't cause to much irritation to you're face.

Smell: Soapy.

Effectiveness: This product leaves the skin feeling very soft and possibly a little bit brighter, but over all my skin tone remained the same.

Value: 140ml for $13.99, which is $9.99 per 100ml.

7/10

This scrub is very reasonably priced and is effective in making the skin feel soft and look brighter. It would be perfect for sensitive skin (which my skin is not) or mature skin.  This scrub lost points because of the soapy smell, runny texture and inability to alter the skins redness. If you do not have a problem with skin tone this products would be perfect for you.

Sanctuary Brightening Facial Radiance Exfloliator

Texture: Very sticky and chunky. I personally love a chunky scrub, but it does come with the one con that they can be tough to get off. This scrub is exactly that, so I would say that it is better to use in the shower so you can really dowse you're face in water to get all the little beads off.

Smell: Fresh.

Effectiveness: This product left my skin feeling very soft

Value: 100ml for $19.99.

8.5/10

This scrub is a bit of a 'drugstore luxury' product as it is at the higher end of the cheaper price products. It is effective in making the skin feel very soft , look brighter and shows a minimal reduction in skins redness. It would be perfect for skin that loves to be exfoliated and needs skin tone correction (which is my skin type). This product does feel luxurious  which justifies the price point. If  you live in Australia you can always wait to get it on sale at Priceline. This scrub only lost points because it can be a tad difficult to use over the sink. I have done so before, but with a headband on to save my hair and shear determination with my washing off!

and the winner is...

Sanctuary Brightening Facial Radiance Exfloliator!

As you can tell thought Aveeno's scrub is great if you have a different skin type to mine, or are just looking for a cheaper option.

[check back soon as I will be posting Brand Blurbs for both Aveeno and Sanctuary soon]
